In November 2001, this report was released from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). It presents data on dropout rates from 1972 to 2000 and finds that the progress made in the 1970s and 1980s in reducing dropout rates was not duplicated in the 1990s, when rates remained relatively stable. The report also correlates dropout rates with other variables, such as income, ethnicity, and region. Users can download the 95-page report as a .pdf file or browse it online.
