Extreme events of January 2001 included ice storms in the southeastern US, heavy rains and flooding in Bolivia, and record snowfall and low temperatures (down to -37 degrees Celsius) in North Korea. The main page gives a map showing blended global satellite and in-situ temperature readings. Regional reports include regional temperature, wind pattern and precipitation maps, along with charts and graphs of temperature, precipitation, and tropospheric anomalies.
