Published by the Mathematical Association of America, this online journal aims to advance the mathematical sciences, especially at the college level, by promoting effective teaching, fostering scholarship, and "making modern tools, curricula, and active learning environments more accessible to students and teachers everywhere." Offerings in the inaugural issue include the first in a regular series of reviews of small Java applets for math (Mathlets), reviews of other online math projects, and an exploration of exponential functions and their derivatives. JOMA will also feature a regular section on reviewed, class-tested, modular, online learning materials.
