Available in English, Russian, or Ukranian, this Website summarizes ecological research underway in the highly contaminated nuclear disaster zone of northern Ukraine. Results from some of the studies conducted by the Texas Tech University researchers indicate some animal populations have rebounded. This is thought, however, to be a response to the absence of human activity. Still unknown are the possible radioactivity costs to wildlife and plants living in this highly toxic environment. The Website includes several sections offering introductory and background information on the zone, as well as listings of recent publications, and posters summarizing some of the research.
