Born in 1917, Florence Knoll Bassett is an American architect and furniture designer whose impressive resume includes work with leaders of the Bauhaus movement as well as numerous exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art during the 1950s. She became quite well known for her reinvention of the modern office space, with many interior designers, architects, and others becoming inspired by her work over the decades.
