National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries

The 1998 National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries shows that the number of fatal work-related injuries has decreased close to 3 percent from 1997, making it the lowest count since this census commenced in 1992. Highway crashes counted for 24 percent of the 6,024 work-related deaths, followed by work-place homicides and on-the-job falls.
