The US Department of Education's NCES has recently released America's Children. Developed by the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics, it is the second in a series of annual compendia of statistical indicators on US children. This issue, which contains 23 indicators in six topics, shows overall improvement in children's well-being but continuing racial, ethnic, and class disparities. Information is presented in non-technical terms with heavy use of charts and tables.
