Los Angeles Economic Roundtable

Since 1983, the L.A. Economic Roundtable has worked on two primary goals: to build a sustainable economy and to create inclusive communities. Producing solid, reliable data to aid policymakers is the Roundtable's area of expertise. The website's "areas of research" and "current projects" will give visitors a good overview of what types of issues the Roundtable addresses. Industrial policy, the labor market, and human services are the areas of research the Roundtable concentrates on, and each area has its own separate link. Some of the papers and presentations that are available in the Human Services area of research include a 129 page downloadable report "Where We Sleep: The Costs of Housing and Homelessness in Los Angeles" and a new report entitled "Dividends of a Hand Up: Public Benefits of Moving Indigent Adults with Disabilities onto SSI". The Roundtable's current projects include research on affordable housing, a crisis indicator to identify high-need homeless people, and the water use efficiency sector's impact on jobs.
