The name Drew Pearson might not be well known today to most people, but from the early 1930s until 1969, he wrote the highly influential (and controversial) syndicated column, "Washington Merry-Go-Round". The column served a muck-racking function for the highest levels of government in the United States. During his long tenure, Pearson wrote on the subject of unscrupulous public officials and became known for his flair for the dramatic.
