The mission of NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration includes providing "scientific and technical support to prepare for and respond to oil and chemical releases", along with working to protect and restore marine and coastal ecosystems. On the homepage, visitors will find the "Current News" area a good place to start. Here they can learn about current response situations and some of the Office's most recent publications. Over on the left-hand side of the page visitors will find four colored boxes that serve as the markers for the "Emergency Response", "Pollutants in the Environment", "Serving Communities", and "Natural Resource Restoration" sections. Within each area, visitors can read fact sheets, check out technical reports, and also learn about the Office's current readiness plans. Overall, this site is a fine resource for anyone involved in emergency response strategies or fields related to oceanography.
