Didaskalia

For those interested in the arts of Greek and Roman terpsichore, dance, and music, the electronic journal Didaskalia will be a welcome find. The journal is an English-language publication that is focused on how these artistic endeavors are performed in contemporary society, and the name comes from the inscriptions used to record the outcomes of drama and music festivals in Athens. The journal was first published in the spring of 1994, and it has been periodically published since that time. Many of the more recent issues have a specific theme, such as "Crossing the Ancient Stage" and "Responses to Ancient Drama in Contemporary Performance". Visitors can browse through each volume, or they can also search the entire contents for specific topics. Finally, visitors can also sign up to receive news updates electronically on their homepage.
