JSTOR aims to "build a reliable and comprehensive archive of important scholarly journal literature" and make them available to the scholarly community. Journals from ten fields ranging from Asian Studies to Sociology can be accessed through JSTOR at the moment. JSTOR does not archive the most recent issues of the journals. Instead it maintains a lag period of three to five years. The articles in JSTOR are fully searchable and users can choose to view them online or print them out for offline reading. The economics journals available are The American Economic Review, Econometrica, The Journal of Economic Perspectives, The Journal of Political Economy, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, The Review of Economics and Statistics and The Journal of Money, Credit and Banking. Note that access to JSTOR is restricted to individuals at subscribing institutions.
