Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Voluntary Reporting

This document, provided by the US Energy Information Agency, summarizes emission data reported for 1995 as part of the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Program.

Global warming is caused by increasing quantities of greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere. Such gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and toxic pollutants. Estimates of temperature increase range from 2-6.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the next 100 years.
