Released several weeks ago, the Amnesty International Report 2005 documents the somewhat disturbing trends across the globe, as numerous nations and international organizations have failed to effectively act to avert a number of humanitarian crises. Many different parties will find the report helpful, as this site offers access to regional overviews and a list of countries that visitors can peruse for more specific information on the state of human rights in each place. The site also contains numerous resources for journalists, and a message from Irene Khan, who serves as Amnesty International's Secretary General. Additionally, each country entry contains links to additional material from Amnesty International, and a general overview about the state of human rights in each country, and where applicable, how each country's policies and actions may be affecting human rights in other parts of the world.
