The US Department of Energy's Monthly Energy Review, a publication that compiles "aggregate energy statistics", has recently been enhanced by the addition of a searchable database. Users can query over sixty tables from the publication, choose variables from each table, and retrieve annual (1973-96) or monthly (the last "two or three" years) data. Retrieval is available in HTML or ASCII text (comma delimited files). MER is also available in ASCII text, .wk1, or .xls format. Historical databases are available in Microsoft Access or ASCII delimited text.
