Dynamics of Economic Well-Being: Income, 1993 to 1994, Moving Up and Down the Income Ladder

Using US Census Bureau data, Wilfred T. Masumura's report Income, 1993 to 1994 indicates that the state of the economy is a not the only determinate of economic well-being. Highlights of Women's Earnings in 2000

Released last week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS), "Highlights of Women's Earnings in 2000," also uses data from the CPS. The report finds that, in 2000, median weekly earnings for women were 76 percent of those for their male counterparts, a gap that varies considerably by demographic group and state.

Regional and State Employment and Unemployment, June 2000

The June 2000 Regional and State Employment and Unemployment from the BLS show virtually no change from May 2000. Forty-five states registered employment shifts less than 0.3 percent. The national jobless rate remained at 4.0 percent.
