This website was created to accompany an exhibition at the Princeton University Art Museum to focus on one ceramic object, a Nahua effigy censer. The effigy censer is made of clay and the mouth, nostrils, ears, and heart were perforated to allow breath-like scrolls of smoke from burning incense to be emitted from the body cavity.
