From UC Santa Barbara Library comes the Alexandria Digital Research Library (ADRL), which hosts the university's diverse collection of digital material. The ADRL originated in the 1990s as the Alexandria Digital Library (ADL), which was dedicated to geospatial information. Today, the repository contains materials from all disciplines and includes "images, text, streamed media, and numeric and spatial data." Visitors can browse the ADRL by collection, contributor, format, or topic. One highlight of the ADRL is the Robert H. Peck Underwater and Coastal Californian Photographs Collection, which features over 2,000 photographs depicting the flora and fauna of coastal California, Baja Mexico, and Alaska streams. Another highlight is the ADRL's impressive collection of audio recordings, which includes over 8,000 musical recordings from a variety of genres.
