Born in Snow Hill, Alabama in 1927, Bob Simms moved to South Florida in 1953 and became an integral part of the community in the region. Over his long career, he served as the executive director of the Miami Dade Community Relations Board and also worked to create the Miami Inner-City Minority Experience. This digital collection from the University of Miami Libraries documents Simms' work with the Community Relations Board and the Defense Race Relations Institute. Here visitors can look over photographs, documents, awards, and publications that provide insight into his long career in South Florida.
