The US Department of Education has recently released this 24 page pamphlet--a simple and concise guide to the Internet for parents. Its thirteen sections include a brief discussion of what the Internet is, how to get started using the Internet even if you don't have a computer, basic computer terminology, pointers to give young children when dealing with communicating on the Internet, and a brief but excellent list of annotated family sites and meta-sites.
