This online phytoplankton checklist was created by Mats Kuylenstierna and Bengt Karlson of Goteborg University, Sweden. The aim of the "checklist is to provide up to date information on phytoplankton and heterotrophic protests found in the Skagerrak and the Kattegat, N. Atlantic Ocean."
