Developed by NASA, the Student Observation Network (SON) provides visitors "with the necessary tools to observe the dynamic connections between the Sun and the Earth." The four programs: Sunspotters, Radio Waves, Magnetosphere, and Auroral Friends are full of fun activities including building telescopes and constructing Magnetometers. Students are encouraged to submit their data to SON which then displays the averages on the Space Weather Alert System. Teachers will find instructive materials for kindergartners through twelfth graders in the downloadable book, Live From the Aurora Educator's Guide.
