Established in 1895, the Higher Learning Commission accredits college and university institutions in nineteen states. The Commission hosts an annual conference that invites participating institutions to speak on the accreditation process, as well as best practices for institutional administration, curriculum, and pedagogy. Individual paper topics include: developing meaningful assessments with limited resources, using social media to engage institutional stakeholders, and developing a "graduate experience" in two-year master's programs.
