Portuguese is the 9th most spoken language in the world and is present in four continents. 276 million people speak Portuguese: 68 million in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Africa and Asia, and 208 million in Brazil.
Speaking the language will allow you to get in direct touch with people from Asia, Africa, South America and Portugal. Learning Portuguese gives access to a very rich culture as Portugal and Brazil have rich musical traditions.
Fado, Bossa Nova, Choro, Tropicália, The Samba, music is a great entry point into the language.
Did you know that singing is an excellent way to improve your listening and pronunciation skills? Portuguese and Brazilian literature: notably José Saramago and Fernando Pessoa in Portugal; Jorge Amado, Clarice Lispector, Hilda Hilst and João Guimarães Rosa in Brazil, highlights the beauty of the language.
Portuguese is an excellent gateway to understanding and learning other Romance language like Spanish, Italian, French and Romanian. We teach two types of Portuguese standard and Portuguese for speakers of romance languages.
